Share of long-term residential care in healthcare expenditure in Europe 2018
In Europe, a significant amount of healthcare expenditure is spent on long-term residential care facilities. In 2018, the Netherlands spent roughly 27 percent of its healthcare expenditure on long-term residential care. On the other hand, less than one percent of the healthcare expenditure in Croatia, Bulgaria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina was used by long-term residential care facilities.
