As of March 2022, around one-third of adults surveyed in the United States expressed interest in paying more for the movie ticket of a Hollywood blockbuster. More than half – 56 percent – of respondents said they were not too interested or not interested at all in doing the same. A couple of weeks earlier, the CEO of AMC Entertainment, Adam Aron, announced that tickets for "The Batman" (2022) would cost more than other movies as the cinema chain experiments with dynamic pricing.
