According to a 2023 study, the largest share of shoppers in online marketplaces in Spain were adults between 46 and 64 years old. The younger the online shopper, the smaller the percentage buying through this channel. That year, roughly half of the Spanish online shoppers knew what a marketplace was and could define it correctly.

To ensure the representativeness of online shoppers, the sample has been weighted with the data obtained in the Estudio general de medios (EGM) from the Asociación para la Investigación de Medios de Comunicación (AIMC).
