In 2020, there were over 453 million people employed in Africa. Eastern Africa had the highest number of people in employment, nearly 187 million, while Western Africa followed with around 123 million individuals employed. On the other hand, Southern Africa was the region with the lowest employment, corresponding to approximately 18 million.
