Residents of Angola sent abroad nearly 142 million U.S. dollars in the second quarter of 2021. The remittance outflow slightly increased from 138.9 million U.S. dollars in the previous quarter. It was also highly above the amount registered in Q2 2020. Portugal and China, countries with a large migrant community in Angola, were the main destinations for the money transfers. During the same period, the remittance outflow outweighed the remittance inflow to the African country.
