In 2022, the wholesale turnover value of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) products in commodity exchange markets with an annual transaction value above 100 million yuan amounted to more than eight billion yuan, representing a drop of almost 600 million yuan from the previous year. Traditional Chinese medicine is an important component of the Chinese pharmaceutical industry, with many believing its efficacy in the country.
