As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, older adults in the U.S. were the greatest beneficiaries of the rise in the use of telemedicine healthcare services. Among adults aged over 46 years of age, telemedicine use was 2.8 per 10,000 prior to the pandemic, while the rate increased to 121.4 per 10,000 after the outbreak of COVID-19. This was the largest increase across all the age groups.
