A survey conducted in the U.S. in 2020 showed that the Generation Z is the one that most shares their streaming service credentials with family and friends, at 80 perecent of people interviewed. Baby Boomers shared their login data less, at 39 percent of respondents. Nevertheless, the reasons why they do so are similar. Between 61 and 76 percent of consumers of all generations stated they share to give access to family and/or friends who can not afford the subscription.
