According to a survey on cyber security programs in Singapore in 2021, security awareness training within an organization contributed to a 21 percent increase in the probability of overall cyber security program success. Having a sufficient security budget contributed to a five percent increase in the probability of success. Several security practices did not have any value assigned, which indicates that the analysis did not find a statistically significant correlation between the practice and overall security program success.

The survey asked respondents how well their organizations followed a set of 25 common security practices. These practices were organized under three main categories: Business and Governance (BG), Strategy and Spending (SS), and Architecture and Operations (AO). A multivariate analysis was then conducted to measure which security practices contributed to successful cyber security programs.
