The New England region includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The Middle Atlantic region includes the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The East North Central region includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The West North Central region includes Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. The South Atlantic region includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. The East South Central region includes Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The West South Central region includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. The Mountain region includes Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. The Pacific region includes Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington. Estimates are based on household interviews of a sample of the U.S. civilian noninstitutionalized population."
