Leading coastal towns with second homes France 2020
In 2020, Leucate was the coastal city with the highest share of secondary residences in France. This Mediterranean town indeed had a secondary residence rate amounting to almost 85 percent. Furthermore, four cities of the above-ranking were located in the Gulf of Lion at that time: Leucate, Le Barcarès, Le Grau-du-Roi, and Gruissan. Two coastal towns of that ranking were also located in the Bay of the Seine: Villers-sur-Mer and Cabourg, respectively, with a secondary residence rate of 83.8 percent and 79.4 percent.
