The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had a significant impact on the sports industry, from professional sports leagues to youth sports participation. During a September 2020 survey among parents in the United States, 32.3 percent of parents reported that their most missed benefit of regular youth sports participation was seeing their child compete, while 4.9 percent of parents most missed being outside.
