In 2021, a pre-budget survey conducted across India indicated that 87 percent of respondents were in favor of the government health insurance scheme, Ayushman Bharat, being extended to a larger share of beneficiaries as well as the coverage limit being increased to one million Indian rupees. The Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna is a scheme that offers the opportunity of cashless treatment at specific hospitals across India.
