In 2022, around 62 percent of parents of eight to fourteen year old children in the United States were considering encouraging them to look at more affordable colleges. More than half of the surveyed parents declare thinking about their children's college education more often than usual, most of them also think that college is now more valuable than before. However, many of them have been considering other education alternatives that are less expensive.
