In a survey conducted in September 2019, around 23 percent of the respondents in Japan stated that they did not want to meet face-to-face to purchase investment products. While 14 percent wished to have face-to-face contact, more than 32 percent were undecided whether they wished in-person contact.
Attitude towards face-to-face contact when purchasing or applying for investment products in Japan in 2020
In the survey, face-to-face contact was defined as contact at the counter or a visit from a representative, while non face-to-face contact included video calls, etc.
Survey results are excluding all respondents who selected "do not know" as a response.
