Systematic handwashing among the French population 2020, by type of situation
According to a study conducted in October 2020, 79 percent of French people stated washing their hands before cooking systematically. Furthermore, the two other circumstances always involving handwashing were "after using the toilet" and "before caring for a baby under six months", respectively, with 77 percent and 75 percent of respondents. The same study also revealed that a majority of French people do not systematically wash their hands after blowing their noses.
