Opinion on VAR in soccer UK 2020
VAR (video assistant referee) is a source of constant debate among soccer fans across the world. While the use of technology can be useful to determine whether the ball has crossed the goal-line, its application by referees to determine fouls and offsides remains controversial. During a November 2020 survey in the UK, 45 percent of soccer fans believed that VAR still made errors, while 41 percent believed that VAR had taken away the moment of celebration from the game.
