Of the 57 European recycling companies surveyed in 2020, 60 percent collected plastic waste exclusively from industrial waste, with just 16 percent of recyclers sourcing from municipal solid waste. The generation of plastic packaging waste per capita in the EU averaged 33.45 kilograms in 2018.
