In 2022,755,612 commercial vehicles on European roads were powered by alternative fuels. This is a year-on-year increase of around eight percent compared to the 2020 fleet size. Overall, the total alternative fuel fleet volume has steadily grown since 2014, when it reached around 379,000 vehicles. Across the recorded period, vans were the most popular commercial vehicle type.
