In Eastern Europe in the 1950s and 1960s, economic output per employed person grew by approximately 5.2 percent per year. The annual rate was highest in the 1950s, where it was over 5.8 percent, while it fell to 4.7 percent in the 1960s. Overall, Bulgaria and Romania saw the largest increases in output, particularly during the periods of rapid industrialization in the 1960s.
