According to a survey conducted in Japan in 2023, around 33.8 percent of the male respondents in their fifties had used online and mobile banking to pay for online purchases or financial transactions made in the past year. The share of female respondents using online banking was generally lower. While credit cards were the most popular payment method, around 22 percent of men and women had used online and mobile banking methods to pay for goods and services bought online.
