In the first quarter of 2020, diesel oil represented the largest share of the demand for petroleum products in Tunisia, corresponding to 46 percent. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and gasoline followed, constituting a large 19 percent and 17 percent of the demand, respectively. In 2020, the demand for petroleum products in the country decreased mainly because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
