In 2020, approximately 55 percent of consumers in France said they would mostly shop for appliances and technology online in the future due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Only about ten percent of French consumers considered primarily purchasing food and beverages on the web, a figure that was significantly higher among UK consumers.
