Weighted average age of acquisition-seeking SPACs in the U.S. 2020, by sector

In the United States, the special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) targeting the cannabis sector had the highest proceeds weighted average age in 2020. Proceeds weighted average age refers to the average days from initial public offering (IPO) for each sector, weighted by deal size. The proceeds weighted average age was 390 days for SPACs in the cannabis sector, followed by 174 days for SPACs in the financials sector, and 166 days for SPACs in the industrials sector.
