In Q4 2020, turnover of French motion picture, video and television production, sound recording, and music publishing companies reached 95.7 index points. Although below the index of 101.1 in Q4 2019 French media and publishing firms recovered far better from the problems that faced the industry in Europe. A comparison with other countries with a robust media and publishing industry, as for example Germany, illustrates this further.

Industry, Trade and Services statistics are part of Short-term statistics (STS), they give information on a wide range of economic activities according to NACE Rev.2 classification.
Turnover comprises the totals invoiced by the observation unit during the reference period, and this corresponds to market sales of services supplied to third parties. Turnover excludes VAT and other similar deductible taxes directly linked to turnover as well all duties and taxes on services invoiced by the unit.
