The Japan eSports Union (JeSU) counted 311 players with a Japan eSports Pro License as of November 2023. Junior Licenses and Team Licenses made up much smaller numbers. JeSU is a governing body for eSports in Japan that was established in 2018 via a merger of the Japan e-Sports Association, the eSports Promotion Organization, and the Japan eSports Federation.
