According to a survey conducted in July 2020, 78 percent of respondents in Japan were aware that there are types of plastic food containers that cannot be used in a microwave. Over 73 percent of respondents knew that bags used at supermarkets for putting products are made from plastic. Only a minority of respondents was aware that plastic is used in additional everyday life products such as the coatings of frying pans.
