As of 2019, international outbound visitors in countries external to Ghana paid approximately 1.05 billion U.S. dollars for non-resident carrier services that were provided during international transportation. The spending increased from 879 million U.S. dollars in 2018. Moreover, between 2010 and 2019, the expenses on passenger transport items in the country experienced some fluctuations but increased overall.

"International tourism expenditures for passenger transport items are expenditures of international outbound visitors in other countries for all services provided during international transportation by non-resident carriers. Also included are passenger services performed within an economy by non-resident carriers. Excluded are passenger services provided to non-residents by resident carriers within the resident economies."
