In 2020, there were over 3.1 million international migrants in Northern Africa. Sudan hosted the highest number, nearly 1.4 million. Libya followed, with around 827 thousand international migrants within its borders. Moreover, Libya had the highest share of migrants compared to the total population in the region as of 2020.
