Internal and external R&D expenditure in the pharmaceutical industry Spain 2012-2022

In 2022, the Spanish pharmaceutical industry invested approximately 762 million euros in internal research and development projects within companies. Additionally, the sector spent around 633 million euros on research contracts with external hospitals, universities, and other public and private institutions. That year, the pharmaceutical industry expenditure on R&D in the country reached over 1.39 billion euros.
