Distribution of arrival of tourists in the GCC 2021, by mode of arrival
As of 2021, most of inbound tourists into the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region arrived by air at about 72.7 percent. Approximately 16.8 million tourists arrived to the GCC in that year, compared to over 62 million in 2019, prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.
