Yearly change in what products U.S. shoppers bought by category 2020-2021
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has caused shopping behavior to change in many ways, including what products people in the United States choose to buy. Between February 2020 and February 2021, about five percent more U.S. consumers had been buying health foods. Tickets for sports, music, and other events unsurprisingly took a major hit during the pandemic, as she shar of U.S. consumers buying these products declined by roughly 15 percent, compared to a year ago.
