According to a survey conducted in 2020 among South American tourist service providers, the quality of the tourist infrastructure was considered by 95 percent of respondents to be one of the most important aspects to attract travelers in the post-pandemic years. Commitment towards environmental protection as well as nature and outdoor entertainment would also play a significant role after COVID-19, according to South American survey participants.

* 90 percent of survey participants were from Brazil, while Chile, Argentina, and Colombia accounted for the remaining 10 percent.
Study was carried out among travel agencies, tour operators, consultants, media, and other type of tourism business agents operating in the leisure, MICE, and corporate segments.
The question posed to survey participants was: "Which of these aspects do you think are the most important for a place that is positioned as a tourist destination in the next five years? (Check at least five alternatives)."
