Leading grocery chains in Russia in 2019, by number of stores
In 2019, the supermarket-chain Magnit accounted for the largest number of physical stores in the country by exceeding 20 thousand. X5 Retail Group ranked second, with nearly 16 thousand establishments. Both leaders were operating in different formats, from proximity stores to hypermarkets.
