Intended accommodation for spring staycations in the UK 2021
The term 'staycation' is typically used to refer to a holiday spent in one's home country rather than abroad, or one spent at home and involving day trips to local attractions. A December 2021 survey revealed that camping and/or staying in a caravan was the leading accommodation type travelers intended to use for an overnight domestic trip in spring in the United Kingdom, with 43 percent of respondents stating that this was the case. Meanwhile, hotels, motels, and inns were equally as popular as commercial rental accommodations, such as rented holiday cottages, with 41 percent of UK respondents, respectively, intending to stay in these types of accommodation during their next spring staycations.
