In 2022, the share of foreign-owned South Korean stocks in relation to the total market capitalization in South Korea accounted for about 27.5 percent, a slight decrease to the previous year. After the Asian financial crisis in 1997, the share of foreign investments in the South Korean stock market increased rapidly, followed by a slight decline thereafter.
