In 2022, the total value of corporate stocks listed in South Korea that were held by foreign investors amounted to about 571.6 trillion South Korean won, down from about 783 trillion South Korean won in the previous year. After the Asian financial crisis in 1997, the share of foreign investments in the South Korean stock market increased rapidly, followed by a slight decline thereafter.
