At the end of 2020, nearly 28 percent of Belarusians wanted to speak in the Belarusian language more often in public. The majority of approximately 48 percent did not express that desire. When asked about which language they preferred to read in, nearly one third of Ukrainian book readers named the Ukrainian language.
