Child dependency ratio in Africa 2000-2021
In 2021, the child dependency ratio in Africa was 71.8 percent. This meant that there were around 72 children aged 0-14 years per 100 working-age population (aged 15-64 years). The young-age dependency ratio on the continent declined in the period examined, determining a reduced burden for the working-age population.
