Number of people emigrating from Ghana 2010-2019
As of 2019, the number of Ghanaians who had emigrated to countries outside of Ghana added up to around 970.63 thousand, up from approximately 857.6 thousand in 2017. Moreover, in a survey conducted in 2010, more than 250 thousand people were reported to have moved to destinations outside of the territory six months prior to the survey. These were mainly from the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions. Overall, the number of emigrants from Ghana increased steadily over the observed timeframe, dominated by males.
