Brazilian tech companies created most of their value within their borders. In 2020, startups with a local geographic strategy accounted for nearly three quarters of the market value of technology-based startups born in Brazil. Meanwhile, only six percent of the market value of these companies were generated by businesss focusing on a global market.

Tecnolatinas refers to technology-based private companies born in Latin America and the Caribbean and owned by founders from the region. It includes companies that have raised more than one million U.S. dollars of capital and with an estimated value of six million U.S. dollars or more.
