In the Busan mayoral by-election held in South Korea on April 7, 2021, Park Hyung-jun of the main opposition People Power Party won the race with 62.67 percent of votes, beating the Democratic Party candidate Kim Young-choon by about 28 percentage points. The Busan mayoral by-election achieved a voter turnout of 52.7 percent. The by-elections were held to fill a total of 21 vacant local administrative and legislative posts, including the mayorships of Seoul and Busan.
