Since 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted the authorities to encourage the development of telework within companies in France. However, it seems that telecommuting tends to penalize women more: compared to men, they were 1.5 times more likely to be frequently interrupted when teleworking (28 percent versus 19 percent for men). They were also disadvantaged in that they were less likely to have a secluded space in which to work.
