According to a survey carried out in February 2021, 69 percent of the British public felt that news organizations were not good at being objective. The survey looked at levels of trust in the media, and found that 56 percent of respondents felt that most news organizations were more interested in supporting a certain political stance or ideology than providing information to the public.
Perception of bias in news organizations in the United Kingdom (UK) as of February 2021
The survey included a sample of 2,014 respondents who were representative of the general population in the United Kingdom. The statements in the chart refer to responses gathered from half the sample. The questions and answers were as follows:
Specifically, how much do you worry about each of the following? 'Journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations': 9-point scale; top 4 box, worry.
