Investments into fintech companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) decreased notably in 2022, with each quarter recording lower investment values than the previous one. In the fourth quarter of 2022, the total value of investments was 6.8 billion U.S. dollars, the lowest value since the second quarter of 2020. Investments remained low in the first half of 2023 as well, rose sharply in the third quarter, and dropped to 4.2 billion U.S. dollars in the last quarter of the year.
