Among readers of comics aged 7 to 15 years in France, the most important criteria when choosing a comic book was the character or hero in question, as almost 50 percent of the people of this group claimed selecting their reading material based on this criteria in 2020. Around 10 percent of the respondents aged 16 to 75 years claimed to choose their comic books based on its cover. In addition to that, for around 5 percent of the people of this group, media and information outlets also had an impact on their choices.
