Brazil: banks clients' interest in WhatsApp Pay 2021

During a 2021 survey fielded in Brazil, around 38 percent of responding WhatsApp users said they were clients of Banco do Brasil, Nubank, and/or Sicredi and would like to use WhatsApp Pay. This division of Facebook, Inc. planned to release the mobile payment solution in Brazil in cooperation with the three banks aforementioned by the end of the first half of 2021. Meanwhile, 28 percent of respondents stated that they used credit and/or debit cards issued by those banks, but they did not intend to use WhatsApp Pay.

The user won't pay extra for making money transfers or payments through WhatsApp. In order to it, [the users] just need to register their cards on the app. Are you a client of these banks and do you intend to use this service?"
