In 2023, the total planted area of large estates for oil palm in Indonesia was around 9.1 million hectares. Indonesia is the world's largest palm oil and cloves producer and one of the world's leading producers of natural rubber, coconut oil, and cocoa. Despite the large production of large estates, smaller estate companies account for the majority of the total planted area of these crops in Indonesia.
