A June 2021 survey found that one third of U.S. consumers subscribed to the VOD service HBO Max. This was more than double the amount recorded in July 2020. At the end of 2020, HBO Max owner Warner Bros. announced that all its 2021 movies will release on both theaters and streaming service simultaneously.
