Employment status of women with children in China 2018-2020

According to a survey conducted in 2020 in China, around 35 percent of women with children in China worked full-time jobs, increasing from 31.1 percent in 2018. In the meanwhile, about 8.4 percent of surveyed mothers either worked part-time or run a sideline.

The survey was conducted among respondents who were:
9.5 percent aged older than 35 years, 28.8 percent aged between 31 to 35 years, 42 percent aged between 26 and 30 years, and 19.7 percent aged 25 years or younger.
10.7 percent from first-tier cities, 19.5 percent from new first-tier cities, 18.8 percent from second-tier cities, 23.7 percent from third-tier cities, 18.7 percent from fourth-tier cities, and 8.6 percent from fifth-tier cities.
